Reducing Margins

In the block edit mode of Object Layout Editor, you can reduce margins on a binder document.

This section describes how to reduce margins between two pages displayed on the Work Pane.

Important
If you reduce margins on a contents page created with Document Binder, objects moved to that page are deleted when you update the contents in Document Binder.

Cautions and Restrictions

Display the pages whose margins you want to reduce.

To automatically display pages whose margins you can reduce, do one of the following.

Click

(Move to Pages with Reducible Margins) on the Toolbar

Select the [Blocks] menu > [Move to Pages with Reducible Margins].

Note
If there is no space between blocks on the displayed page, you cannot use the [Reduce Block Margins on Displayed Pages] menu and (Reduce Block Margins on Displayed Pages).

Adjust the size and position of the blocks as necessary.

Click

(Reduce Block Margins on Displayed Pages) on the Toolbar.

Or, follow one of the steps described below.

Select the [Blocks] menu > [Reduce Block Margins on Displayed Pages].

Right-click and select [Reduce Block Margins on Displayed Pages].

The margins are reduced, and the reduced blocks are displayed from the top of the left page.

Note
If (Reduce Block Margins on Consecutive Pages) is displayed, click and select [Reduce Margins].

Repeat steps 1 to 3 if necessary.

If [Delete Specified Area] or [Fix Specified Area] is set in Specify Area Not to Edit, the margins in that area are reduced according to the settings. For more information, see the following. Specifying an Area in which Editing Cannot be Performed Table of contents pages and pages with attached annotations and digital stamps are excluded when reducing margins. Because of this, even if [Delete Specified Area] is selected, areas within the specified area in which editing cannot be performed are not deleted. In these cases, delete the objects you wish to delete manually. A confirmation message is displayed when slightly reducing the size of all blocks in order to fit them all on one page.

Clicking [OK]: The size of all blocks is reduced, they are moved to the left page, and the right page is left blank.

Clicking [No]: Block sizes are not reduced. Margins that can be reduced without reducing block sizes are reduced, and the blocks are moved.
