Descriptions of Settings

[Device Information]
Displays whether the device status is set automatically or manually. Clicking [ (Retrieve Device Status Information)] retrieves the device status from the printer.
[Config. Profile]
Click [Change] and in the [Change Configuration Profile] Dialog Box, select a configuration profile that matches the printer you are using. The items and settings displayed in the [Device Settings] tab are switched according to the selected configuration profile.
If you click [ (Export)], you can save the current [Device Settings] tab settings as a "configuration profile" file in the [Export Configuration Profile] Dialog Box.
[Device Type]
Sets the type of printer.
When changing [Device Type], do not use profiles registered prior to the change. Cases where it has been changed manually are the same as those where it has been changed automatically by acquiring the device status.
[Finishing Settings]
[2-sided Printing]
Select this to use the 2-sided printing function.
[Offset]
Select this to use the offset function.
[Staple]
Select this to use the stapling function.
[Eco (Staple-Free)]
Select this to use the Eco (Staple-Free) function.
[Saddle Stitch]
Select this to use the saddle stitching function.
[Punch]
Select this to use the hole punch function and set the type of hole punch.
[Fold]
Select this to use the fold function and set the type of fold.
[Perfect Binding]
Select this to use the perfect binding function.
[Trim [Fore]]
Select this to use the trim (fore) function.
[Trim [Top/Bottom]]
Select this to use the trim (top/bottom) function.
[Saddle Press]
Select this to use the saddle press function.
[Paper Source Settings]

Displays the paper source options.
[Inserter]
Displays the inserter.
[Form to Tray Assignment]
In the [Form to Tray Assignment] Dialog Box, you can confirm and set the paper size and paper type set in each paper source.

Set the paper size in the [Paper Size Settings] Dialog Box.
[Paper Source]
Set the paper source options in the [Paper Source] dialog box.

[Finisher]
Displays the finisher.
[Stacker]
Displays the stacker.
[Paper Output Settings]
Set the paper output options in the [Paper Output Settings] dialog box.

[Other Settings]
[Spooling at Host]
Enables you to select whether processing of the print data is performed at the host (computer) or at the printer with processing at the host disabled. If you click [Auto], processing is performed at the printer when processing is possible using only the printer functions, increasing the print speed.
When you select [Disabled], you may not be able to set the following functions.

The output result (appearance) of overlay printing when you select [Auto] or [Enabled] differs from when you select [Disabled].
[User Management]
When [Department ID Management] is selected: Configure detailed department ID management settings in [Settings] (the [Department ID/PIN Settings] Dialog Box).
When [User Authentication] is selected: Configure detailed user authentication settings in [Settings] (the [User Authentication Settings] Dialog Box).
Department ID Management
[Set User Information]
Enables you to set a user name for print data and a PIN for secured printing. You can configure detailed settings by clicking [Settings] ([User Information Settings] Dialog Box).
User Information Settings
[Secure Printing Function of Device]
Select this when using the job lock extension kit. It embeds restriction and tracking information into the print data as a dot pattern. This function is useful when printing confidential documents etc. Clicking [Retrieve Device Status Information] acquires the printer status and automatically sets this option.
Required conditions
Select [Finishing] tab → [Advanced Settings] → [Secure Printing Function of Device] → [On]

[About]
Displays information about the printer driver version.
[Special]
In the [Special Settings] dialog box, you can select [Fix [Output Method] as [Store]].
Required condition The driver is configured using the Canon Driver Configuration Tool.
[Add-in Information]
Displays information concerning add-in modules (expanded functions) added to the printer driver.
[Function]
Displays the controller function ID and function version in the [Device Function Settings] Dialog Box.
[Font Settings]
In the [Font Settings] Dialog Box, you can set the method for replacing TrueType fonts with printer fonts.
[Details]
In the [Detailed Settings] Dialog Box ([Device Settings] Tab), you can set the printer settings displayed in each tab of the printer driver.
[Language Settings]
Enables you to select the display language.
