License Transfer Procedures

If a situation arises where you want to use Desktop on a different computer or you want to change the computer you are using, you can transfer the license to a different computer.
A license transfer can be performed by using "Return License" in the "License Information Management."
Verify that the license transfer procedure matches the system you are using.

Transferring a License to Another Computer

If you want to use Desktop on another computer, first perform "Return License" and then re-authenticate the license.

If the computer on which the license was authenticated is connected to the Internet

1.
Start the License Information Management application.
2.
Select Return.
3.
Select Online Return.
4.
The license return is complete.
5.
Re-authenticate the license.

1.
Start the License Information Management application.
2.
Select Return.
3.
Select Offline Return.
4.
Create a Request Data File and User Information File.
5.
Send the Request Data File and User Information File to your Canon dealer.
6.
Retrieve a Response File for returning from your Canon dealer.
7.
Read the Response File for returning.
8.
Create a Request Data File for returning.
9.
Send the Request Data File for returning to your Canon dealer.
10.
Confirm that the return of the license is complete.
11.
Re-authenticate the license.

Recovering a License from a Broken Computer and Transferring to Another Computer

If the computer on which a license was authenticated breaks down, Desktop can still be used by transferring the license to a different computer after recovering it.
Contact your Canon dealer and request that the license be recovered. Re-authenticate the license after it is recovered.

Request your Canon dealer to recover the license.
2.
Confirm that the license has been recovered.
3.
Re-authenticate the license.
