[Device Settings] Tab (Settings)

How to display the [Device Settings] tab:
Click [

] (Start) → [Devices and Printers].
The above is for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.
For Windows 8 and Server 2012: From the desktop, display the charm bar to the right of the screen, and click or tap [

Settings] → [Control Panel] → [Devices and Printers].
For Windows Vista and Server 2008: Click [

] (Start) → [Control Panel] → [Printers].
For Windows XP and Server 2003: Click [Start] → [Printers and Faxes] (or [Start] → [Control Panel] → [Printers and Other Hardware] → [Printers and Faxes]).
Right-click the icon of the printer you are using → click [Printer properties] (or [Properties]).
Click the [Device Settings] tab.
Descriptions of Settings
[Device Type]
Enables you to set the type of printer to be used. Select [Black & White [A3]], [Color [A3]], [Black & White [A4]], or [Color [A4]].
[Language]
Switches the display language of the driver.

When switching the display language, close and reopen the driver after selecting the language.

[Number of Drawers]
If optional drawers have been installed in the printer, select the corresponding number of drawers (1 to 5).
[2-sided Printing]
If the printer you are using is capable of 2-sided printing, select this setting.

If you are using a printer model capable of 2-sided printing, if you do not select this setting, you cannot use functions related to 2-sided printing.

[Staple]
Select this setting to enable stapling. Selecting [Allow Staple Position Selection] enables you to select the stapling position.
[Hole Punch]
Select this setting to enable you to use the hole punching function.
[Storage Options]
Select this option if you want to specify a data name and destination when saving print data.
[Secured Print]
Select this setting when you want to enable secured printing.
[Use Department ID Management]
Enables printing management with department IDs and PINs. You can configure detailed setting by clicking [Settings] (
[Department ID/PIN Settings] Dialog Box).
[Set User Information]
Enables you to set a user name for print data and a PIN for secured printing. You can configure detailed setting by clicking [Settings] (
[User Information Settings] Dialog Box).
[Details]
In the
[Detailed Settings] Dialog Box ([Device Settings] Tab), you can configure detailed driver settings such as custom paper and driver settings.
[Get Device Status]
Acquires information from the printer and applies it to the following settings.
[Device Type] ([Black & White [A3]], [Color [A3]], [Black & White [A4]], [Color [A4]])
[2-sided Printing]
[Storage Options]
If you cannot acquire the printer information, set the options manually.
[About]
Displays information about the printer driver version.
