Parts and Their Functions

The varioPRINT iX1700 is a sheet-fed inkjet press comprised of multiple modules.
PIM (Paper Input Module)
Retains the media in an optimal state and feeds it. You can connect up to three PIMs. PIM (Paper Input Module)
Attention light
Indicates the press status. Status Indicators
PM (Print Module)
Ejects ink onto the media for printing. PM (Print Module)
FM1 (Fixation Module 1)
Attaches the media to the primary fixing belt with suction, then dries the ink with the heated primary fixing belt and blown air. The media is pressed against the primary fixing belt with strong suction to prevent the media from deformation when the ink and media are dried.
FM2 (Fixation Module 2)
Transports the media held between the upper and lower fixing belts while heating it with heaters.
CM (Cooling Module)
Cools the media by blowing outside air onto it.
TM (Turning Module)
Inverts the media for appropriate transport.
STM (Stacking Module)
Aligns the printed media and stacks it in the stack tray. When stacking the media in the stack tray is complete, the stack tray is passed to a dolly for removal. You can connect up to three STMs with the delivery path kit. STM (Stacking Module)
Main control panel

PRISMAsync controller
A controller for managing the performance, workflow, and print quality of the press.
