Registering a Profile for Colors from Another Machine

From a computer, print the "A4/LTR Color Chart for Reproduce Colors from Other Device" with both this machine and another machine, and then scan the charts to register the colors from the other machine to the profile.
* This function may not be supported by some models, such as those not equipped with a feeder.
IMPORTANT
When you print the charts with this machine and the other machine, set the scaling to 100%. If the scaling is not set correctly, an error message appears when you scan the charts.

Step 1: Printing the Chart from a Computer with the Machine

From a computer, print the "A4/LTR Color Chart for Reproduce Colors from Other Device" with the machine using the printer driver.

Required Preparations
Install the printer driver on the computer, and configure the settings according to your usage environment. Preparing to Print Data Using a Driver

On the computer, download the "Chart for the machine" in "A4/LTR Color Chart for Reproduce Colors from Other Device" from the page for the machine at the online manual site.

Open the downloaded chart.

From the menu in the application used to open the chart, select the print command.

Select the printer driver of the machine, and click [Preferences] or [Properties].
The [Printing Preferences] screen of the printer driver is displayed.

On the [Basic Settings] tab, configure the settings as follows.
[Page Size]: Select [A4] or [Letter].
[1-sided/2-sided/Booklet Printing]: Select [1-sided Printing].
[Manual Scaling]: Select the checkbox, and set [Scaling] to [100%].

On the [Quality] tab, select the [Manual Color Settings] checkbox, and click [Color Settings].
The [Color Settings] screen is displayed.

On the [Matching] tab, configure the settings as follows.
[Matching Mode]: Select [Do Not Use].
[Application Color Matching Priority]: Clear the checkbox.

Click [OK].
The [Printing Preferences] screen is displayed again.

Click [OK].

If the application has a scaling setting, specify 100%.

Click [Print] or [OK].
The machine starts printing the chart.
When printing is completed, proceed to Step 2. Step 2: Printing the Chart from a Computer with the Other Machine

NOTE
If the machine is configured so that print data from the computer is not printed immediately, you need to operate the machine to perform printing. Printing Documents in Forced Hold State

Step 2: Printing the Chart from a Computer with the Other Machine

From a computer, print the "A4/LTR Color Chart for Reproduce Colors from Other Device" with the other machine that has the color tone you want to reproduce, using the printer driver.

When printing is completed, proceed to Step 3. Step 3: Registering the Profile on the Machine

Step 3: Registering the Profile on the Machine

Scan the charts printed in Step 1 and Step 2 with this machine, and register the colors of the other machine to the profile of this machine.
 
Use the control panel to register the profile. You cannot register the profile using Remote UI from a computer.
Administrator or DeviceAdmin privileges are required. The machine must be restarted to apply the registration.

Log in to the machine as an administrator. Logging In to the Machine

On the control panel, press [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen. [Home] Screen
The [Settings/Registration] screen is displayed.

Press [Adjustment/Maintenance] [Adjust Image Quality] [Register Color Profile].
The [Register Color Profile] screen is displayed.

Press [Reproduce Colors from Other Device].
The [Reproduce Colors from Other Device] screen is displayed.

Follow the instructions on the screen to load the printed charts in the feeder.

Press [Start Scanning].
The machine starts scanning the charts.
When scanning is completed, the screen for entering the profile name is displayed.

Enter the profile name, and press [OK].
The profile is registered.
You cannot register the same name of a profile that has already been registered.

Press [OK].

Press [ Settings/Registration] [Yes].
The machine restarts, and the registrations are applied.
