How to display the [Device Settings] tab:
Click [

] (Start) → [Devices and Printers].
The above is for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.
For Windows 10: Click [Settings] → [Devices] → [Printers & scanners] → [Related settings] → [Devices and printers].
For Windows 8, 8.1, Server 2012 and Server 2012 R2: From the desktop, display the charm bar to the right of the screen, and click or tap [

Settings] → [Control Panel] → [Devices and Printers].
For Windows Vista and Server 2008: Click [

] (Start) → [Control Panel] → [Printers].
For Windows Server 2003/Server 2003 R2: Click [Start] → [Printers and Faxes] (or [Start] → [Control Panel] → [Printers and Other Hardware] → [Printers and Faxes]).
Right-click the icon of the printer you are using → click [Printer properties] (or [Properties]).
Click the [Device Settings] tab.
Descriptions of Settings
Printer Option Settings
([Paper Source Options]/[Output Options]/[Insertion Unit]/[Duplex Unit]/[Extended Memory]/[Hard Disk Installed]/[3 Way Unit]/[SD Card Installed]/[Secure Printing Function of Device]/[Secure Watermark Function of Device])
You can set the options installed in the printer. Setting these options enables you to print using the functions of each option. Clicking [Get Device Status] acquires printer information and automatically sets the options. If you cannot acquire the printer information, set the options manually.
[Spooling at Host]
Enables you to select whether processing of the print data is performed at the host (computer) or at the printer with processing at the host disabled. If you click [Auto], processing is performed at the printer when processing is possible using only the printer functions, increasing the print speed.
When you select [Disabled], you may not be able to set the following functions.
[Basic Settings]/[Page Setup] tab - [Page Layout] - [N on 1] (other than 1, 2, and 4 on 1)

[Page Setup] tab - [Page Options] - [Layout Options]

The output results (appearance) for overlay printing differ when you select [Auto]/[Enabled] and when you select [Disabled].

[Secure Printing Function of Device]/[Secure Watermark Function of Device]
Select this option when using the job lock extension kit. It embeds restriction and tracking information into the print data as a dot pattern. This function is useful when printing confidential documents. Clicking [Get Device Status] acquires printer information and automatically sets this option.
Required conditions:
Select [Finishing] tab → [Advanced Settings] → [Secure Printing Function of Device]/[Secure Watermark Function of Device] → [On].

Trust Stamp (secure printing function/watermark function of the driver)

[Department ID Management]
Enables printing management with department IDs and PINs/passwords. You can configure detailed settings by clicking [Settings] (
[Department ID/PIN Settings]/[Department ID/Password Settings] Dialog Box).
[Set User Information]
Enables you to set a user name for print data and a PIN (password) for secured printing. You can configure detailed settings by clicking [Settings] (
[User Information Settings] Dialog Box).
[Specify Mail Box Number When Storing]
Select this option if you want to specify a data name and destination when
Saving Print Data.
[User Management]
When selecting [Department ID Management]: Configure detailed settings for department ID management from [Settings] (the [Department ID/PIN Settings]/[Department ID/Password Settings] dialog box).
When selecting [User Authentication]: Configure detailed settings for user authentication from [Settings] (the [User Authentication Settings] dialog box).
[Special]
In the [Special Settings] dialog box, you can select [Fix [Output Method] as [Store]].
Required condition: The driver is configured using the Canon Driver Configuration Tool.

[Details]
In the
[Detailed Settings] Dialog Box ([Device Settings] Tab), you can configure detailed driver settings such as custom paper details, job names for print data, etc.
[Function]
In the
[Device Function Settings] Dialog Box, you can set the controller version ID, function version, and loading from an insertion unit (sheets to insert).
[Font Settings]
In the
[Font Settings] Dialog Box, you can set to replace TrueType fonts with printer fonts.
[Form to Tray Assignment]
In the
[Form to Tray Assignment] Dialog Box, you can confirm and set the paper size and paper type set in each paper source.
[Get Resource Information]
Acquires resource file information (form file names) downloaded using the Resource Management plug-in of the iW Management Console. Click this button to display a dialog box for specifying a resource information file (*.daf) and a store destination.
Required conditions: Installation of the iW Management Console

This function cannot be used with drivers for 64-bit environments.

[Add-in Information]
Displays information concerning add-in modules (expanded functions) added to the printer driver.
[Get Device Status]
Acquires information from the printer and applies it to the following settings.
