Enhancing the Functions (MEAP)
The Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) is a system that enhances and optimizes various functions by installing dedicated MEAP applications on the machine. For example, MEAP enables a user management function using IC cards, or integration with output management software.
You can install and manage MEAP applications using the Service Management Service (SMS). Use the SMS by logging in to Remote UI on a web browser on a computer.
* Regardless of the TLS settings for the Meap functions, the SMS always uses TLS encrypted communication. When using the SMS, you need to configure the settings for the key and certificate to be used for TLS encrypted communication in advance. Checking the Firmware Version
With the SMS, you can also change the authentication application (login service) of the machine from User Authentication to DepartmentID Authentication.
IMPORTANT
Do not use the [
] (back button) of the web browser while using the SMS. It may not operate properly.

NOTE
Only one user can use the SMS at one time. Multiple users cannot use it at the same time.
