Receiving Faxes

The machine receives incoming faxes automatically without ringing, so you do not need to perform operations to receive them.
When a fax is received, the Processing/Data indicator on the control panel blinks green, and the machine automatically prints the fax on the same size of paper as the received data. If the same size of paper is not loaded, the received fax is printed on another size of paper.
You can also change the print settings, such as 2-sided printing and the rules for printing on another size of paper. Changing the Print Settings for Received Faxes
When Receiving Faxes with a Set Subaddress and Password
The subaddress and password need to be set in advance.
If you set an RX password, you can prevent the reception of unwanted faxes by ensuring that only faxes with the matching password are received.
When Using a Fax Information Service
To use the service, you need to manually perform operations to receive faxes.
NOTE
When a Fax Is Not Received or Printed
Check the status of the machine. Cannot Receive a Fax
When an error or other problem occurs with the machine and the received fax cannot be printed, you can forward the received fax to the Memory RX Inbox. [Forward Temporarily Stored File to Memory RX Inbox]
When the Processing/Data Indicator on the Control Panel Is Lit Green
Received faxes are stored in the memory of the machine. You can check the content of faxes on the control panel or Remote UI before printing them.
Preventing Automatic Printing of Received Faxes
Configure the settings to store received faxes in the memory of the machine, or forward or save them to a specified destination.

Receiving Faxes with a Set Subaddress and Password

The machine supports the use of ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication Standardization Sector) standard subaddresses and passwords.
To receive faxes with a configured subaddress, set the subaddress as a condition for automatic forwarding. Automatically Forwarding and Backing Up Received Faxes
To receive faxes with a configured password, set an RX password. [RX Password]
* When you set an RX password, the password is checked if a subaddress is not configured for a received fax sent from another party using the ITU-T standard.
If the password of the fax does not match the set password, or if no password has been configured for the fax, the fax is not received.
