When a folder is specified as a monitoring target, it will be monitored even when Document Monitor is running but Desktop Browser is not running, and a document notification icon will be displayed when there is an unread/updated document in the folder.

The default settings of Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1 restrict icons displayed in the task tray area. Follow the steps below to display the Document Monitor icons in the task tray area.
1.Select the [Start] menu (for Windows 7) or the Charm [Settings] (for Windows 8/Windows 8.1) > [Control Panel].
[Control Panel] is displayed.
2.Select [Small icons] in [View by].
All the Control Panel items are shown in [Control Panel].
3.Select [Notification Area Icons].
The [Notification Area Icons] window is displayed.
4.Select the [Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar] check box, and click [OK].
The [Notification Area Icons] window closes.
5.Close [Control Panel].
If you only want to set the "main icon", set [Show icon and notifications].

The [System Settings] dialog box cannot be displayed in Document Monitor when the [System Settings] dialog box is displayed in Desktop Browser, Document Binder, or Annotation Editor.

If a document has its highlighting cleared in the Desktop Browser screen, even if you set it to be highlighted again it will not be displayed in the icon. For more information on highlighting, see the following.

[Icon Display Settings]

Select this check box to display document notifications with the Document Monitor icon in the task tray.

|
Configures the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] display settings.

|
Select this check box to display thumbnails for the documents in [List of Unread/Modified Documents]. If this check box is selected, a thumbnail of the document is displayed after the following operations.

[Always display monitored folders]
|
Select this check box to continue displaying monitored folders and My Tray in [List of Unread/Modified Documents] even when there are no unread/updated documents in a monitored folder, or new documents in My Tray. If you deselect this check box, monitored folders and My Tray are removed from [List of Unread/Modified Documents] when there are no documents to notify you of.

Select this check box to always display [List of Unread/Modified Documents] in front.

When [Change sound] is selected, the source sound specified for [File Name] is set as the notification sound. In [File Name], you can specify the preferred wav/wave format source sound for the notification sound by clicking [Browse].
When selecting [Change sound], confirm the following and select the file.
File path: Within 255 characters
File size: Within 10MB
In Windows XP, the only sounds that can be played as notification sounds are 8-bit or 16-bit wav/wave files. Sounds other than these might not play the notification sound. If you cannot hear the sound even after clicking [Play], you should specify another file.
