Importing and Exporting the Address Book and Settings
You can write the Address Book and settings to files and save (export) them to a computer. You can also load an exported file and apply (import) the Address Book and settings to the machine.
You can use this function in case of an unexpected event. In addition, an exported file can be imported to other Canon multifunction machines, so the Address Book and the settings data can be shared with other machines without the need to register the information and configure the settings.

Items That Can Be Imported and Exported
There are two ways to import and export files. You can either import and export individual files containing only the required settings, or you can batch import and export all settings together in one file.
The items that can be imported and exported vary depending on the import or export method you use.

For batch export, you can either export all of the items below or just the ones that you specify.

Points to Note When Importing and Exporting Data
Importing and Exporting Between Machines Using the Same Display Language
The display language must be the same between the import destination and export source. If the display language is different, the setting values may be garbled and the import destination may not operate correctly.
Points to Note for Execution
Do not turn OFF the machine until the import or export is complete. Turning OFF the machine during processing may cause data corruption or machine failure.
* It may take a few minutes until the process is completed.
It is recommended that import and export be executed when no users are using the machine. Some operations and processes are not allowed while import or export is in progress.

When Personalized Data Is Synchronized
When you start the synchronization of personalized data while using the machine as a client machine*1, the import and export of the following data to be synchronized will be restricted:
Personal setting information*2
User group address list

If you want to import or export the data to be synchronized while personalized data synchronization is in progress, you need to stop the synchronization and perform operations on the server machine.
When Importing Data from Another Machine While Synchronization Is in Progress
If you want to import data from another machine that is not synchronized while personalized data synchronization is in progress, follow the procedure below.
Administrator privileges are required to import data.
Required Preparations
Prepare the data to be imported. On another machine, export the user data and user group data to be added. Exporting Data Individually

Stop the synchronization on the client machine to which the data will be imported. Stopping Synchronization on a Client Machine

On the server machine, delete the user and user group information corresponding to the data to be imported to the client machine. Deleting Personalized Data on the Server Machine

On the client machine for which synchronization was stopped, import the data to be synchronized.

Start synchronization on the client machine to which the data was imported. Starting Synchronization on a Client Machine

When Importing the Personal Address Lists and User Group Address Lists on the Server Machine Where Synchronization Is in Progress
When [Destination Server Address] is set to "localhost:8443" on the server machine with the client functions enabled, you can import the personal address lists and user group address lists individually even while synchronization is in progress. Importing Data Individually
When Exporting Data While Synchronization Is in Progress
On a client machine, you cannot export the data to be synchronized while personalized data synchronization is in progress.
