Setting the IPv4 Address
The machine's IPv4 address can either be assigned automatically using DHCP or entered manually.
Select whether to assign the IPv4 address automatically or manually depending on the usage environment and application.
* When the machine is connected to two different networks at the same time, set the IPv4 address to be used on the main line here. To set the IPv4 address to be used on the sub line, see the following:
This section describes how to configure the settings using the control panel.
You can also set the IP address using Remote UI from a computer after it has been set on the machine.
Managing the Machine from a Computer (Remote UI)Administrator or NetworkAdmin privileges are required.
1
Log in to the machine as an administrator.

When Assigning an IP Address Automatically
Press [DHCP] or [Auto IP] to select it.
Auto IP searches automatically for IP addresses available on the network being used and assigns a value to each item. Although IP addresses can be assigned automatically without using a DHCP server, communication is limited to the router.
When both are selected, priority is given to the IP address allocated with DHCP, and if there is no response from DHCP, Auto IP will be used.
In an environment where neither DHCP or Auto IP can be used, it is recommended to not select [DHCP] or [Auto IP]. If these remain selected, the machine will continue to check on automatically obtaining an IP address in the network, creating unnecessary communication.
When Setting the IP Address Manually
1
Check that [DHCP] and [Auto IP] are not selected.
If either of these is selected, press the corresponding button to cancel selection.

If the IP Address Is Changed after Installing the Printer Driver
In macOS, you must re-register the machine on the Mac. For details about registering the machine, see the manual of the driver at the online manual site.
* If you are using DHCP to automatically obtain the IP address of the machine, the IP address may be changed automatically.
