Configuring DNS

When using the machine in an environment with Domain Name System (DNS), configure the DNS server information and DHCP option settings.
In an environment without DNS, you can configure multicast DNS (mDNS) to use the DNS function. mDNS is used by Bonjour and other software.
* When the machine is connected to two different networks at the same time and using DNS to send and receive specific system data via the sub line, you must also configure DNS on the sub line in addition to configuring this setting. Setting the DNS of the Sub Line
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using the control panel.
You can also configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer. Managing the Machine from a Computer (Remote UI)
Administrator or NetworkAdmin privileges are required.
Required Preparations
When configuring DNS for IPv6, configure the settings to use an IPv6 address. Setting IPv6 Addresses

Log in to the machine as an administrator. Logging In to the Machine

On the control panel, press [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen. [Home] Screen
The [Settings/Registration] screen is displayed.

Press [Preferences]  [Network]  [TCP/IP Settings].

Configure the DHCP options.
If you are not configuring the DHCP option settings, proceed to Step 5.

Press [DNS Settings].

Set the DNS server information.
For details about the setting information, contact your provider or network administrator. You can also refer to the computer settings. Checking the Network Connection Information of the Computer
If you are not configuring the DNS server information, proceed to Step 7.

Configure the mDNS settings.
If you are not configuring the mDNS settings, proceed to Step 8.

Press [ Settings/Registration]  [Yes].
The settings are applied.
