[TCP/IP Settings]

Configure the settings for using the machine on a TCP/IP network.

* Values in red text indicate the default setting for each item.

Set the computer name used to identify the machine on the network, and the name of the workgroup to which the machine belongs. Setting the Computer Name and Workgroup Name

Configure the settings for using the machine as an SMB server. Preparations for Using Advanced Space

Specify the SMB version to be used on the machine (SMB server).
The same version of SMB needs to be used for the SMB server and SMB client.

Configure the settings for using the machine as an SMB client and connecting to an SMB server (such as a computer with a shared folder). Configuring an SMB Client

Set the SMB version to use when you configure the machine as an SMB client and connect to an SMB server (such as a computer with a shared folder). Configuring an SMB Client
Specify the same version as that of the SMB server to be connected.

When using the machine in a network environment that uses both NetBIOS and TCP/IP, configure Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) to convert the NetBIOS name to an IP address. Configuring WINS

Set whether to use the RAW protocol. Using LPD, RAW, and WSD
When using the RAW protocol, you can also set whether to use bidirectional communication, and the time from the start of reception standby, after print data reception is canceled, until the timeout.

Configure the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) settings to obtain time information from the time server on the network. Configuring SNTP

Set whether to enable printing using the FTP protocol.
When you enable printing, also set the user name and password for the FTP server, as needed.

Set whether to use UTF-8 character encoding for displaying the file names when you print using the FTP protocol.

Set whether to use the WSD protocol. You can configure the setting for each function that uses the WSD protocol. Using LPD, RAW, and WSD

Set whether to use FTP PASV mode. PASV mode needs to be configured when the machine is connected to an FTP server through a firewall. Configuring FTP PASV Mode

Set whether to use Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). Setting the IPP Printing Function of the Machine
When you use IPP printing, you can set whether to use IPPS printing (enable printing only when using TLS), and whether to use IPP authentication.

Set whether to respond to multicast discovery used by device management software or other applications. Configuring SLP Communication
When you set the machine to respond to multicast discovery, also set the name of the scope to which the machine belongs.

Set whether to use a proxy server to connect the machine to the network. Using a Proxy
When you use a proxy server, set the proxy server information, applicable range, and authentication information.

Set whether the machine checks authentication information when you print using the V4 printer driver.

* This setting is applied when you use TLS encrypted communication.
