Notes and Warnings Regarding Installation

Take care of the following items when installing.

If a screen requiring you to allow changes to the computer is displayed, allow the changes with an administrator account.

If a Windows Security screen indicating that the publisher of the driver cannot by verified is displayed, allow installation.

When acquiring driver information using the Canon Driver Information Assist Service, if a warning regarding removing Windows Firewall blocking is displayed, remove the block.

If you use the installer to install a driver, you can update existing drivers at the same time that you install the new driver.

When updating an existing driver, match the language to install with the existing driver.

The following operation is required to switch the display language after installing the driver:

(1) Back up the address book used in the driver.

It is recommended that you set the character code to UTF-8 and export the address book as a Canon Address Book (*.abk) file.

(2) Uninstall the existing driver.

(3) Specify the language to display, and reinstall the driver.
