Productivity/Image Quality Priority for Mixed Paper Type

You can set whether priority is given to productivity or to image quality when you copy or print on the mixed paper type.
IMPORTANT
This mode is invalid when you copy or print on the tab paper, pre-punched paper, letterhead, and envelopes.

Press [Function Settings] → [Common] → [Print Settings].

Press [Prod./Img. Qlty. Priority for Mixed Ppr. Type].

Select the item to set the priority.
If you select Productivity Priority:
Press [Productivity Priority].
Press [Standard], [Thin Paper Priority], or [Heavy Paper Priority] → [OK].
Details of each item are shown below:
[Standard]:
This mode is the default setting. Select this mode when you use both thin paper (less than 128 g/m2) and heavy paper (more than 129 g/ m2).
[Thin Paper Priority]:
Select this mode when you mainly use thin paper (less than 128 g/ m2). Productivity is increased compared to selecting [Standard].
[Heavy Paper Priority]:
Select this mode when you mainly use heavy paper (more than 129 g/ m2). Productivity is increased compared to selecting [Standard].
IMPORTANT
When you select [Thin Paper Priority] and print on heavy paper (more than 128 g/m2), or select [Heavy Paper Priority] and print on thin paper (less than 128 g/m2), there may be a waiting time for copying/printing.
When you set productivity priority under the specific conditions, uneven gloss may occur or toner may not be properly applied to the image.
If you select Quality Priority:
Press [Quality Priority].
IMPORTANT
Print quality increases because the suitable fixing temperature for paper type will apply to print, but there may be a waiting time to start printing.
Depending on the job, the print speed may be adversely affected during printing.

Press [OK].

IMPORTANT
If you adjust this mode, paper jams may occur, and the quality of the image may be adversely affected, depending on the paper.
Changing this mode may have an effect on the paper curl. If necessary, adjust the Curl Correction Level in Paper Type Management Settings. (See "Adjusting the Level of Curl Correction.")
