Correcting the Image for Scratching
If you use a paper stock which is stored in a low temperature environment for a long period of time, the quality of the image may be adversely affected, as if the printed image is scratched. This is because the unevenness of absorbed moisture in the paper stock may cause troubles in paper feeding. In this case, You may improve the image quality by setting this function to [On].

This function is displayed only if the settings are made available by your local authorized Canon dealer. Even if this function is displayed, do not allow anyone to change the settings except for the system manager. For more information on changing the settings, contact your local authorized Canon dealer. |
NOTE |
This function is available when [Coated Paper Productivity/Gloss Priority] is set to [Standard] while using coated paper (1-sided coated paper, 2-sided coated paper, matte coated paper) 1 to 3. If you set this function to [On], the productivity may be decreased as the print speed is adversely affected. |
1.
Press
(Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Preferences] → [Paper Settings] → [Paper Type Management Settings].
3.
Select the paper type that you want to edit from the list → press [Details/Edit].
4.
Press [Change] for <Correct Image for Scratching>.
5.
Select [On] → press [OK].
If you want to give priority to productivity, instead of image quality, select [Off].
6.
Press [OK].
