Fixing Transport Unit

This section describes how to clear a paper jam which occurs in the fixing transport unit of the machine. The location of the fixing transport unit of the machine is indicated in the following illustration.

NOTE
The following illustration indicates the location of the paper jam. Please refer to it to remove the jammed paper. * Front Cover

Follow the procedure described below, while referring to the location of the paper jam and the directions that appear on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper.

Close the cover that is open.

CAUTION
When closing the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Open the front cover of the main unit, and turn the lever (C-C1) in the direction of the arrow (counterclockwise).

	1. Open the front cover of the main unit.
	2.Turn the lever (C-C1) in the direction of the arrow (counterclockwise).

Remove any jammed paper from the fixing transport unit (C-C2).

	1.Grip the lever (C-C1), and pull out the fixing transport unit (C-C2).
	2.Remove any jammed paper from the fixing transport unit (C-C2).

Remove any jammed paper from the guide (C-C3).

	1. Open the guide (C-C3).
	2. Remove any jammed paper.
	3. Close the guide (C-C3).

CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Remove any jammed paper from the fixing transport unit (C-C2).

CAUTION
The fixing unit and its surroundings are subject to high-temperatures. When removing jammed paper, take care not to touch anything in this area. The inner output guide and its surroundings are subject to high-temperatures. When removing jammed paper, take care not to touch anything in this area.

Open the inner output unit, and remove any jammed paper.

	1.Open the guide (C-C4).
	2.Remove any jammed paper.
	3. Close the guide (C-C4).

Remove any jammed paper from the guide (C-C5).

	1. Open the guide (C-C5), holding by the green tab.
	2. Remove any jammed paper.
	3. Close the guide (C-C5).

CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Gently push the fixing transport unit (C-C2) back into its original position, and close the front cover of the main unit.

	1. Gently push the fixing transport unit (C-C2) back into its original position.
	2. Close the front cover.

CAUTION
When returning the unit to its original position or closing the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Follow the instructions on the screen.

NOTE
The screen indicating the directions on how to clear the paper jam is displayed repeatedly until the paper jam is cleared.

Fixing Transport Unit

1. Open the front cover of the main unit.

2.Turn the lever (C-C1) in the direction of the arrow (counterclockwise).

1.Grip the lever (C-C1), and pull out the fixing transport unit (C-C2).

2.Remove any jammed paper from the fixing transport unit (C-C2).

1. Open the guide (C-C3).

2. Remove any jammed paper.

3. Close the guide (C-C3).

1.Open the guide (C-C4).

2.Remove any jammed paper.

3. Close the guide (C-C4).

1. Open the guide (C-C5), holding by the green tab.

2. Remove any jammed paper.

3. Close the guide (C-C5).

1. Gently push the fixing transport unit (C-C2) back into its original position.

2. Close the front cover.
