Importing and Exporting Data Individually
You can import and export individual files containing only the settings you need, such as the Address Book or printer settings.
IMPORTANT
For the points to note when importing and exporting data, see the following:
Exporting Data Individually
Select the items to export and write them to a file (individual export). When exporting the Address Book, select the file format that suits your needs.
Perform individual export using Remote UI from a computer. You cannot use the control panel to export the data individually.
Administrator privileges are required.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator.
Starting Remote UI2
On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration].

In [Import/Export Individually], click the items you want to export, and configure the export settings.
When Exporting the Address Book

Click [Address Lists]
[Export].
The [Export Address Lists] screen is displayed.
If the PIN input screen appears, enter the PIN set for the Address Book, and then click [OK].

Configure the export settings.
[Address List]
Select the address list to be exported.
* If the name of the address list has been changed, the list will be exported under the initial name.
[Security Level]
Select the security level for the data to be exported. The models to which the data can be imported and the formats that can be selected vary according to the security level.
[Level 1]:
Allows import to all Canon multifunction machines. [Custom Format] and [LDAP Format] will be selectable.
[Level 2]:
Encrypts the password using a more secure method than [Level 1], when you set a password for the exported data. The data can be imported only to the models that support this level.
When this level is selected, [Custom Format] and [CSV Format] become selectable.
[File Format]
Select the file format for the data to be exported.
[Custom Format]: The Canon Address Book file (*.abk) format.
Select this format when importing all information registered in the address list to other Canon multifunction machines.
[LDAP Format]: The LDAP data exchange file (*.ldif) format.
Select this format when using the data in applications on a computer. Only the e-mail address and fax number information is saved.
[CSV Format]: The CSV file (*.csv) format.
Select this format when using the data in applications on a computer.
[Password] and [Confirm]
In both [Password] and [Confirm], enter the password to be set for the data to be exported.
* The password is required to import the exported data.
* This item is displayed only when the settings are configured to export the data including the password set for the addresses.
[Include Password When Exporting Address Book]When Exporting Device Settings (the Forwarding Settings, Address Book, and [Favorite Settings] for Sending)

Click [Device Settings (Forwarding Settings, Address Book, Send Function Favorite Settings)]
[Export].
The [Export Device Settings] screen is displayed.

Configure the export settings.
[Security Level]
Select the security level for the data to be exported The models to which the data can be imported and the formats that can be selected vary according to the security level.
[Level 1]:
Allows import to all Canon multifunction machines.
[Level 2]:
Encrypts the password using a more secure method than [Level 1], when you set a password for the exported data. The data can be imported only to the models that support this level.
[Password] and [Confirm]
In both [Password] and [Confirm], enter the password to be set for the data to be exported.
* The password is required to import the exported data.
* This item is displayed only when the settings are configured to export the data including the password set for the addresses.
[Include Password When Exporting Address Book]When Exporting Favorites of the Web Access Function
Click [Web Access Favorites]
[Export].
When Exporting the Printer Settings
Click [Printer Settings]
[Export].
When Exporting the Paper Information
Click [Paper Information]
[Export], and select the paper information type.

Click [Start Exporting] to save the exported file on a computer.

Log out from Remote UI.
IMPORTANT
If the exported file is in the XML format, do not open the file and edit it. Editing the file may result in a malfunction.
Importing Data Individually
Select the item you want to import, and specify the file in which the relevant settings are saved and import them (individual import).
Perform individual import using Remote UI from a computer. You cannot use the control panel to import the data individually.
Administrator privileges are required. Depending on the item to be imported, you may need to restart the machine.
IMPORTANT
Ensuring That the Correct Files and Data Will Be Imported
Before importing the files, make sure that the appropriate files are selected and the correct settings are configured.
The Address Book and settings will be overwritten when the files are imported. Depending on the settings, the machine may not function properly or the operations may be affected.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator.

In [Import/Export Individually], click the items you want to import, and configure the import settings.
When Importing the Address Book

Click [Address Lists]
[Import].
The [Import Address Lists] screen is displayed.
If the PIN input screen appears, enter the PIN set for the Address Book, and then click [OK].

Configure the import settings.
[Address List]
Select the address list of the import destination.
[Import Method]
Select the import method to use for the address list.
To add the imported addresses while keeping the existing addresses registered at the import destination, select [Add].
To delete all of the addresses registered at the import destination and overwrite them with the imported addresses, select [Delete and Overwrite].
[File Path]
Click [Choose File], and specify the file to be imported.
[File Format]
Select the format for the data to be imported.
[Custom Format]: Canon Address Book file (*.abk)
[LDAP Format]: LDAP data exchange file (*.ldif)
[CSV Format]: CSV file (*.csv)
[Decrypt Address List Authentication Information]
To import a file with a password, select this checkbox, and enter the password set during export.
When Importing Device Settings (the Forwarding Settings, Address Book, and [Favorite Settings] for Sending)
The current Address Book will be deleted and it will be overwritten by the Address Book to be imported.

The [Import Device Settings] screen is displayed.

[File Format]
Select the file format for the data to be imported.
* The file format varies depending on the multifunction machine model that exported the data.
[File Path]
Click [Choose File], and specify the file to be imported.
[Decrypt Address List Authentication Information]
To import a file with a password, select this checkbox, and enter the password set during export.
When Importing Favorites of the Web Access Function
Click [Web Access Favorites]
[Import], click [Choose File] and specify the file to be imported.
* When more than 20 items are registered, only the top 20 items in the order of registration are imported.
When Importing the Printer Settings
Click [Printer Settings]
[Import], click [Choose File] and specify the file to be imported.
When Importing the Paper Information

Click [Paper Information]
[Import].
The [Import Paper Information] screen is displayed.

Configure the import settings.
[Type]
Select the paper information type to be imported.
[File Path]
Click [Choose File], and specify the file to be imported.

Click [Start Importing]
[OK].
The specified file is imported to the machine.
When Device Settings Are Imported
When the import is complete, restart the machine.
Restarting the Machine* The machine needs to be restarted to apply the settings. In addition, you cannot use Remote UI until the machine is restarted.
