Using LPD, RAW, and WSD

Select whether to use any of the protocols below on the machine when printing or scanning documents from a computer.
You are recommended to disable any protocols you will not be using.
When using LPD or RAW, you can configure the time until reception of print data is canceled.
LPD
This protocol is not dependent on the hardware, operating system, or other platform. It is commonly used in TCP/IP network environments.
RAW
This is Windows' proprietary print data type protocol. It is used as standard in a Windows environment.
WSD
This protocol enables automatic detection of network-connected printers and scanners in a Windows environment.
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Preferences] to configure the settings. [TCP/IP Settings]
Administrator or NetworkAdmin privileges are required.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Click [Network Settings].

Configure the settings of LPD, RAW, or WSD.

Click [OK].
The settings are applied.

Log out from Remote UI.
NOTE
Outputting an LPD Banner Page
If you use LPD, you can set whether to output banner pages when banner pages are configured for the print data. [LPD Print Settings]
* Use the control panel to configure the banner page output settings. You cannot configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
Adding a WSD Network Device
Click [] (Start) [] (Settings) [Bluetooth & devices] [Printers & scanners] [Add device] for [Add a printer or scanner]  [Add device] for the machine, and perform the operations following the instructions on the screen.
