Restricting Use of the Address Book
You can set a PIN for the Address Book and hide destinations and the Address Book to prevent unauthorized editing or use of the Address Book.
Restricting Address Book Registration and Editing by Setting a PIN
You can require the use of PIN to add a new entry to the Address Book or edit existing entries.
* Administrators with Administrator privileges can register and edit the destinations without having to use a PIN.
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [
Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Set Destination] to configure the settings.
[Address Book PIN]Administrator privileges are required.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator.

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration].

[Address Book PIN].
The [Address Book PIN] screen is displayed.

Select the [Set Address Book PIN] checkbox, and set a PIN.
Enter the same number in [Address Book PIN] and [Confirm].
* You cannot set a PIN consisting of all zeros, such as "00" or "0000000."

Click [OK].
The settings are applied.

Log out from Remote UI.
NOTE
Changing the PIN
Select the [Change PIN] checkbox, and set a new PIN.
Clearing the PIN
Clear the [Set Address Book PIN] checkbox, and click [OK].
Hiding Destinations (Access Number Management)
By setting an access number, you can register destinations that you do not want to disclose to all users, such as important clients, to the Address Book in a hidden state. Destinations with a set access number can only be displayed by entering the correct access number.
Follow the procedure below to enable access number management, so that you can set an access number to destinations in the Address Book.
* When access number management is enabled, you cannot use the setting history on the scan (Scan and Send) or fax screen of the control panel.

Hiding the Address Book
You can hide the Address Book and one-touch buttons from the scan (Scan and Send) and fax screens on the control panel. Configure whether to hide the Address Book and one-touch buttons for each function.
Use the control panel to configure the settings. You cannot configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
Administrator privileges are required.
